Mediation
Conflict can arise in any organisation. Mediation is a confidential, flexible, voluntary, impartial and informal approach to conflict resolution.
The aim of the mediation service is to
- provide a safe opportunity for the parties involved to identify issues,
- explore options for the best way forward and
- reach a mutually acceptable agreement.
Staffcare offers a 1/ 1½ day mediation model, aimed at finding a mutually acceptable resolution within a pre-determined financial framework. It provides an opportunity for those involved to identify issues and explore possible solutions.
Prior to the formal mediation, each party meets for an assessment interview with the mediator to discuss what has happened from their point of view. This also gives the mediator an opportunity to outline the mediation process and to confirm that both parties wish to progress to the next stage.
If both parties are willing to meet, the mediator will support them to hear what the dispute is about from each other’s perspective, help them to explore options and support both parties to work towards drafting a working agreement.
